A methanol carbonylation system (10) includes an absorber tower (75) adapted for receiving a vent gas stream and removing methyl iodide therefrom with a scrubber solvent, the absorber tower being coupled to first and second scrubber solvent sources (16, 56) which are capable of supplying different first and second scrubber solvents. A switching system including valves (90, 92, 94, 96, 98) alternatively provides first or second scrubber solvents to the absorber tower and returns the used solvent and sorbed material to the carbonylation system to accommodate different operating modes.
L'invention porte sur un système (10) de carbonylation de méthanol qui comprend une tour d'absorption (75) conçue pour recevoir un courant de gaz évacué et pour éliminer l'iodure de méthyle de celui-ci avec un solvant de lavage, la tour d'absorption étant couplée à des première et seconde sources de solvant de lavage (16, 56) qui sont aptes à adresser des premier et second solvants de lavage différents. Un système de commutation comprenant des soupapes (90, 92, 94, 96, 98) adresse alternativement le premier ou le second solvant de lavage vers la tour d'absorption et renvoie le solvant usé et la matière sorbée vers le système de carbonylation pour répondre aux besoins de différents modes de fonctionnement.
