In particular, the pharmaceutical composition is a sustained release oral dosage composition for relieving intraocular pressure comprising methazolamide and a high molecular weight binder, wherein the composition provides sustained rate of methazolamide release in an in vitro drug release profile. A filler and a lubricant may also be included.
