This invention relates to a method and apparatus for improvement of flow rates and reduction of fouling in process equipment such as for instance heat exchangers (2) where fluids are flowing in single or multiphase. This is obtained by imposing a DC-potential at the walls of the process equipment that exactly opposes the naturally ocurring potential due to interaction between the walls of the process equipment and the fluid flowing inside. An improved flow rate will cause that the heat exchanger (2) becomes more efficient, i.e. a lower deposition rate and a higher removal rate of inorganic agents. The fluid may be a pure fluid, colloidal fluid or contain inclusions in the form of particles.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant d'améliorer les débits et de réduire l'encrassement dans un équipement de traitement, tel que des échangeurs de chaleur (2), par exemple, dans lesquels les fluides s'écoulent en phases uniques ou multiples. Ce résultat est obtenu par application d'une tension en courant continu au niveau des parois de l'équipement de traitement, qui s'oppose exactement à la tension induite naturellement en raison de l'interaction entre les parois de l'équipement de traitement et le fluide qui s'écoule à l'intérieur de l'équipement de traitement. Avec un débit amélioré, l'échangeur de chaleur fonctionne mieux (2), c'est-à-dire que le taux de dépôt est inférieur et que le taux d'élimination des agents inorganiques est supérieur. Le fluide peut être un fluide pur, un fluide colloïdal ou peut contenir des inclusions sous forme de particules.
