The invention provides a sampler for removing material such as ore from a mining operation, from a moving belt conveyor. The sampler comprises a frame having sweeping means located between a pair of spaced blades and behind their cutting edges. A drive means is arranged to pass the frame periodically across the moving belt in order to confine the material between theblades in a sampling zone which extends obliquely across the belt. Material confined in the sampling zone is displaced from the belt while the blades traverse the belt. The material displaced from the belt is conveniently reduced to a homogeneous state for assaying.
Cette invention concerne un échantillonneur servant à prélever du matériau tel que du minerai d'une exploitation minière, plus particulièrement d'une bande transporteuse en mouvement. L'objet de l'invention comprend un bâti équipé d'un moyen de balayage situé entre une paire de lames espacées et derrière leur arête coupante. Un moyen d'entraînement est disposé de manière à traverser de temps à autre la bande transporteuse en mouvement pour retenir le matériau entre les lames dans une zone d'échantillonnage se prolongeant de biais à travers ladite bande. Le matériau maintenu dans cette zone est balayé de la bande lorsque les lames traversent celle-ci. Le matériau balayé est réduit en poudre homogène en vue des opérations de titrage.
