ABSTRACT A system for erecting high buildings in which scaffolds are erected at one or more locations around the building and are accessible from the ground but not neces- sarily extending to the ground. The scaffolds comprise a plurality of interconnected platforms suspended one from the other with the top platform being suspended, by a flexible means, directly to the building. The platforms can be raised, in stepwise fashion, to higher levels as the building is completed at lower levels.
