Described is a method for inhibiting incrustations in evaporators for concentrating black liquor from the sulphite process comprising the addition of a copolymer of acrylic acid, 2- acrylamido-2-methylpropane-1-sulfonate and t-butylacrylamide and/or a hydrophobically modified (meth)acrylate polymer in combination with an anionic surfactant selected from n-alkyl benzene sulfonic acids. This combination exhibits a distinct synergistic effect and inhibits the formation of incrustations considerably. Described is further a corresponding agent comprising these copolymers and an anionic surfactant.
