ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is concerned with a method for selective control of weeds in corn, (maize) wherein a highly active and non selective herbicide, N-(2'-methoxyethyl)- 2,6-dimethyl-chloracetanilide is applied before or after emergence/together with a safening agent (antidote) selected from a small group of N,N-disubstituted dichloro-acetamides. The invention is also concerned with compositions including such herbicides and safeners.
