Abstract of the Disclosure A method and an aggregate for heating and cooling buildings and/or the preparation of warm household water by means of a heat pump. The method comprises the steps of recovering heat from exhaust air and from the water vapour present in said air, letting the vaporizer of the heat pump become frosted, and intermittently defrosting the vaporizer. The compressor of the heat pump is operated at least approxi- mately with a constant output, such that the operating time thereof is at least 4500 h/year. The condensation takes place both by means of a water and an air condenser, and the vaporizer is defrosted by means of the exhaust air while the compressor is stopped and the exhaust air fan is operating.
