A B S T R A C T An apparatus for the flash vaporization and distillation of a liquid reaction-mixture of a high pressure, having a distillation column, a flash valve for flash vaporization of the liquid reaction-mixture of a high pressure, and members for directing unvaporized liquid drops remaining after the flash vaporization into the distillation column, characterized in that the flash valve has a socket and closer member movable to adjust a clearance between the socket and the closer member and thereby adjust the flow rate and extends inside the distillation column and that the members for directing the unvaporized liquid into the distillation column are walls fitted in front of the flash valve in the distillation column in order to separate drops of unvaporized liquid from the produced vapor and to direct them downwards. This apparatus both allows utilization of the heat content for distillation, and also tends to minimize reverse reactions in the liquid which can occur as the result of the pressure decrease, as the delay between depressurization and distillation is minimized.
