A handheld device for testing printer cartridges that interfaces with a computer for processing of test results is provided. Multiple testing devices may be coupled to the computer. In one embodiment, each testing device includes a base board and an adaptor board. The base board includes a host processor and a computer interface. The adaptor board comprises a cartridge- specific socket for retaining a printer cartridge to be tested and test circuitry. The adaptor boards may be interchanged. In another embodiment, the device obtains power from the computer interface. A computer program communicates with the test device and displays the results of the tests through execution of a suitable application or program. In a presently preferred embodiment, the application presents a pass/fail indication to a user and tallies the number of passed/failed cartridges.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif à main de contrôle de cartouches d'imprimantes servant d'interface avec un ordinateur traitant les résultats du contrôle. Plusieurs de ces dispositifs pouvant être reliés à un ordinateur. Dans une exécution, chaque dispositif comporte une carte de base et une carte d'adaptateur. La carte de base comprend un processeur hôte et une interface d'ordinateur. La carte d'adaptateur comporte de préférence une prise spécifique de la cartouche, la maintenant, et un circuit de contrôle. Les cartes d'adaptateur sont interchangeables. Dans une autre exécution, le dispositif est alimenté par l'interface avec l'ordinateur. Un programme d'ordinateur communique avec le dispositif de contrôle et affiche les résultats du contrôle obtenus via une application ou un programme. Dans une exécution préférée, l'application présente une indication bon/mauvais et compte les cartouches bonnes ou mauvaises.
