A method and an apparatus for selectively removing, by liquid absorption, hydrogen sulphide from a gas containing both hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide, are disclosed. In a first stage of the method, the gas (3) is in a container (1) contacted, in at least one step, with a carbonate-containing alkaline solution whose pH is adjusted during the absorption by the addition of a hydroxide, such as sodium hydroxide. In a second stage of the method, the gas is combusted in a combustion device (32) for converting the hydrogen sulphide remaining in the gas to sulphur dioxide, which then is absorbed in an alkali-containing solution, such as a sodium hydroxide solution, in a wet cleaner (36). By combining the absorption of hydrogen sulphide in a carbonate-containing solution in a first stage, and the combustion of the remaining hydrogen sulphide to sulphur dioxide and the absorption of the formed sulphur dioxide in an alkaline solution in a second stage, one may attain a total hydrogen-sulphide separation of high selectivity, high degree of separation and good process economy.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil d'extraction sélective, par absorption de liquide, d'acide sulfhydrique d'un gaz contenant à la fois de l'acide sulfhydrique et du dioxyde de carbone. Dans un premier étage le procédé consiste à mettre en contact le gaz (3) se trouvant dans un conteneur (1), en au moins une étape, avec une solution alcaline contenant du carbonate dont le pH est ajusté pendant l'absorption par l'addition d'un hydroxyde, tel qu'un hydroxyde de sodium. Dans un second étage le procédé consiste à brûler le gaz dans un dispositif de combustion (32) permettant de convertir l'acide sulfhydrique restant dans le gaz en dioxyde de soufre, lequel est ensuite absorbé dans une solution contenant des alcalis, telle qu'une solution d'hydroxyde de sodium, dans un épurateur (36) par voie humide. Le fait de combiner l'absorption de l'acide sulfhydrique dans une solution contenant du carbonate dans un premier étage, et la combustion de l'acide sulfhydrique restant en dioxyde de soufre, ainsi que l'absorption du dioxyde de soufre formé dans une solution alcaline dans un second étage permet d'obtenir une séparation de l'acide sulfhydrique total avec une sélectivité élevée, un haut degré de séparation et une économie de traitement sensible.
