ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus and method for establishing rings of particulate material on the internal surface of a cen- trifugal casting mold when the rings, which can be ei- ther end rings or internal rings, have axial dimensions small in comparison to the length of the mold. The rings are established by confining a quantity of the particulate material in a cavity, inserting the cavity into the mold, rotating the mold and the cavity at sub- stantially the same rate adequate to apply substantial centrifugal force to the particulate material in the cavity, and opening the cavity to release the particu- late material while continuing to rotate the mold and the cavity.
