ABSTRACT An insulated cylindrical object is disclosed which includes a cylindrical base member, a continuous uninterrupted uniform thickness layer of rigid foam insulation extending around the circumference of the base member, and an insulation layer being capable of supporting its weight and the weight of the base member. The insulation layer has a uniform thickness throughout and is characterized by a first area comprising about 25 percent of the total layer thickness where the foam method is relatively high and a second area, integral with the first area and spaced inwardly from the first area, where the foam density is relatively lower. An outer productive layer overlying the insulation layer is used.
