"METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING LABELS TO NON-ROUND CONTAINERS" ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for continuous high speed appli- cation of labels to rectangular or other non-round containers wherein the containers are fed tangentially past a vacuum drum by means of a helical screw or star wheel. Label material is severed and fed in strips onto the vacuum drum, after which glue is applied over the exposed surface of each strip. The vacuum drum and container feed move at the same linear speed and the vacuum drum has a resilient outer portion, such that each label will be brought into tangential contact with each container for pressure application thereto.
