A method of and an apparatus for feeding and applying end stops one at a time onto a slide fastener chain are disclosed. An elongated strip wound on a reel and carrying a multiplicity of prospective end stops serially interconnected by flexible connecting cords is cut successively across the cords to separate a leading end stop which is folded centrally about its longitudinal axis. The thus cut end stop is transferred onto and clamped in place over a beaded edge of a stringer tape with heat and pressure.
