A method for monitoring a select analyte in a sample in an electrochemical system. The method includes applying to the electrochemical system a time- varying potential superimposed on a DC potential to generate a signal; and discerning from the signal a contribution from the select analyte by resolving an estimation equation based on a Faradaic signal component and a nonfaradaic signal component.

L'invention a trait à un procédé d'examen d'une substance à analyser sélectionnée dans un échantillon faisant partie d'un système électrochimique. Le procédé consiste à appliquer au système électrochimique un potentiel à variation dans le temps superposé à un potentiel CC pour générer un signal, puis à distinguer du signal une contribution issue de la substance à analyser sélectionnée, en résolvant une équation d'estimation fondée sur une composante de signal faradique et une composante de signal non faradique.
