ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus or assembling a carton from a body forming blank scored to define a bottom panel and side panels, and a pair of end forming blanks which each include a pair of side flaps and a bottom flap. The body forming blank is positioned over a carton forming cavity of the apparatus, and is then bent into u-shaped configuration by a mandrel which is reciprocably mounted for movement into the cavity. Means are provided for feeding a pair of end forming blanks into the carton forming cavity so that these blanks are positioned across each of the open portions of the u-shaped body forming blank, and the apparatus has side flap folding arms and bottom flap folding arms for folding the side and bottom flaps of the end forming blanks against the U-shaped body blank held by the mandrel when the mandrel is at the end of its downward movement.
