The present invention provides a system and method for assessing the status of work waiting for service in a work queue or a work pool. Work items are placed in the work queue or work pool and have a service time goal. The work items in the work queue or work pool are scanned and a required queue position for each work item is calculated according to the amount of time remaining prior to the expiration of the service time goal and weighted advance time for servicing of work items in the work queue or pool. An array of counters has elements which correspond to required queue positions. Upon the calculation of the required queue position for a work item, the counter corresponding to the required queue position is incremented. When all of the work items are scanned, the array of counters is analyzed to predict a future state of the work queue or work pool.
La présente invention concerne un système et une méthode d'évaluation du statut de travaux en attente d'exécution dans une file d'attente ou un bassin de travaux. Les lots de travaux sont placés dans la file d'attente ou le bassin de travaux, avec un objectif de délai d'exécution. Les lots de travaux dans la file d'attente ou le bassin de travaux sont scannés et une position d'attente requise pour chaque lot de travaux est calculée selon le temps restant avant l'expiration de l'objectif de délai d'exécution et le délai prévu pondéré pour exécuter les lots de travaux dans la file d'attente ou le bassin. Une gamme de compteurs dispose des éléments qui correspondent aux positions d'attente requises. Dès le calcul de la position d'attente requise pour un lot de travaux, le compteur correspondant à la position d'attente requise est incrémenté. Lorsque tous les lots de travaux sont scannés, la gamme de compteurs est analysée pour prévoir un statut futur de la file d'attente ou du bassin de travaux.
