ABSTRACT A method for automatically cutting and reeling a strip of material, whereby the said strip is cut and a resultant new beginning is secured to a winding sleeve rotating upon two driven carrier rollers between which the said strip is passed, characterized in that the strip of material is drawn by suction against the periphery of the carrier roller, upon which it is cut, a finished roll of material is removed, a new winding sleeve is inserted, a pressure roll is placed thereon, and a new beginning of the strip of material is glued to the new winding sleeve, an adhesive having been previously applied, either to the new beginning of the strip or to the winding sleeve, the suction being shut off as soon as the new winding sleeve starts to rotate.
