In a method and apparatus for supplying a molten metal, a supplying operation of the molten metal is started after a molten metal discharge port formed in a lower end portion of a molten metal supply sleeve facing down on a bottom portion of a molten metal supply vessel is positioned right above a plunger tip located at a lower position within an injection sleeve of an injection apparatus. The injection sleeve and the plunger tip are simultaneously lowered in accordance with the supplying operation of the molten metal.
