ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pair of separable slide fastener stringers is fed along in one plane along parallel spaced paths, respectively, toward throats of a Y-shaped guide channel in a slider fixed in position. Pins of the stringers are inserted into the guide channel through the throats, respectively. The pins as they emerge from a rear end of the slider are stopped when rows of coupling elements start inter meshing with each other within the guide channel. The separable slide fastener stringers are moved again at the same speed to bring the rows of coupling elements into intermeshing engagement.
