A method is provided for banding copper cathodes which is efficient and cost effective using a system comprising: stack loading means; stack moving means; stack weighing means; stack identification means; stack rotating means; stack pressing means; stack banding means; stack removal means; and a control system. Predetermined stack and method parameters are compared with stack data obtained by weighing the cathode stack and/or reading a bar code associated withthe stack to control the system and operate the method.

Méthode efficace et économique pour relier des groupes de cathodes de cuivre au moyen d'un système comprenant des moyens de charger les groupes de cathodes, de les déplacer, de les peser, de les identifier, de les faire tourner, de les presser, de les relier et de les retirer, ainsi qu'un système de commande. Des paramètres prédéterminés relatifs aux groupes de cathodes et à la méthode sont comparés avec les données sur lesdits groupes, données qu'on obtient en pesant le groupe de cathodes et(ou) en lisant un code à barres associé au groupe afin de contrôler le système et d'exploiter la méthode.
