A method and an apparatus for the manufacture of a long workpiece capable of bending different sections of the workpiece at different bending radii, while preventing buckling deformation during bending of small bending radius sections and a lowering of a productivity. The speed of travel of the workpiece is controlled to be lower for sections requiring a larger degree of bending per unit length, so as to prevent the buckling deformation, and to be higher for sections requiring smaller bending per unit length, so as to prevent the lowering of the productivity.
L'invention vise une méthode fabrication d'une pièce de forme longue ainsi que l'appareil nécessaire à sa mise en oeuvre, capable de cintrer différents tronçons de la pièce à différents rayons de courbure, tout en empêchant les déformations par flambage au cours du cintrage de tronçons à petits rayons de courbure ainsi que les baisses de productivité. La vitesse de déplacement de la pièce est contrôlée de manière à être plus faible pour les tronçons nécessitant un plus grand degré de cintrage par unité de longueur, pour éviter le flambage, et à être plus élevée pour les tronçons nécessitant un cintrage moindre par unité de longueur, pour éviter les baisses de productivité.
