A method of and an apparatus for binding pollutants in flue gas in one or more combustion plants, one of the one or more combustion plants comprising a furnace, a flue gas channel connected to the furnace, a contact reactor provided in the flue gas channel, a dust separator provided in the flue gas channel after the contact reactor, an ash recirculation conduit connecting the dust separator and the contact reactor, the recirculation conduit having a moistening device arranged therein, and a retention tank for ash arranged below the contact reactor. The method includes, among other features, maintaining reactions resulting in the production of flue gas containing pollutants in the furnace, causing flue gas to flow through the flue gas channel to the dust separator, where the ash containing unreacted calcium oxide is separated from the flue gas, conducting a portion of the separated ash to the moistening device, where water amounting up to 50% of the weight of the ash is mixed into the ash, mixing moistened ash into the flue gas flowing in the contact reactor, whereby ash is entrained with the flue gas to the dust separator thus binding pollutants in the flue gas, causing a portion of the moistened ash, which is mixed into the flue gas, to fall down into the retention tank for ash, hydrating at least a portion of the calcium oxide in the ash to form calcium hydroxide in the retention tank and recycling at least a portion of the ash from the retention tank to at least one of the one or more combustion plants.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil servant à la fixation des polluants dans des gaz de fumée, dans une ou plusieurs installations de combustion, une ou plusieurs de ces installations de combustion comprenant un four, un conduit de gaz de fumée relié à ce four, un réacteur de contact placé dans le conduit de gaz de fumée, un séparateur de poussière placé dans le conduit de gaz de fumée après le réacteur de contact, un conduit de remise en circulation des cendres qui relie le séparateur de poussière et le réacteur de contact et dans lequel est incorporé un dispositif d'humidification, et un réservoir de retenue pour les cendres, placé sous le réacteur de contact. Le procédé faisant l'objet de cette invention consiste, notamment, à entretenir des réactions entraînant la production de gaz de fumée contenant des polluants dans le four, à amener les gaz de fumée à s'écouler via le conduit de gaz de fumée jusqu'au séparateur de poussière, où les cendres contenant de l'oxyde de calcium n'ayant pas réagi sont séparées des gaz de fumée, à acheminer une partie des cendres ainsi séparées jusqu'au dispositif d'humidification, où une quantité d'eau allant jusqu'à 50 % du poids des cendres est mélangée à ces cendres, à mélanger les cendres ainsi humidifiées dans les gaz de fumée s'écoulant dans le réacteur de contact, où les cendres sont entraînées avec les gaz de fumée jusqu'au séparateur de poussière, entraînant ainsi la fixation des polluants dans les gaz de fumée, à amener une partie des cendres ainsi humidifiées, qui sont mélangées dans les gaz de fumée, à retomber dans le réservoir de retenue des cendres, à hydrater au moins une partie de l'oxyde de calcium dans les cendres, pour former de l'hydroxyde de calcium dans le réservoir de retenue et à recycler au moins une partie des cendres provenant du réservoir de retenue jusqu'à au moins une ou plusieurs des installations de combustion mentionnées.
