ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The bronzing of cigarette paper is achieved by impinging finely-divided metal or other particles suspended in an air stream against the surface desired to be bronzed and bearing an outline in wet adhesive of the desired pattern. Some of the metal particles adhere to the adhesive to provide the desired bronzing. The metal particles are conveyed to the application unit in an air stream and excess metal particles are conveyed away from the application unit in an air stream. - 1 -
