A method for performing carrier frequency offset estimation and frame synchronization is disclosed herein. In one approach, the method includes performing a first level frequency discrimination on at least one estimated channel tap to generate a frequency discriminated value; estimating a phase error from the frequency discriminated value; and, detecting a predetermined frame synchronization pattern from the frequency discriminated value. A computer program product having code and a wireless communications apparatus for performing the method are also described herein.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour effectuer une estimation de décalage de fréquence porteuse et une synchronisation de trame. Selon une première approche, le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à effectuer une première discrimination de fréquence de niveau sur au moins une dérivation de canal estimée pour générer une valeur de fréquence discriminée; à estimer une erreur de phase à partir de la valeur de fréquence discriminée; et à détecter un motif de synchronisation de trame prédéterminé à partir de la valeur de fréquence discriminée. Un programme informatique ayant un code et un appareil de communication sans fil pour réaliser le procédé sont également décrits par les présentes.
