A method for characterizing inhalation noise within a pressurized air delivery system, the method including the steps of: generating an inhalation noise model (912, 1012) based on inhalation noise; receiving an input signal (802) that includes inhalation noise comprising at least one inhalation noise burst; comparing (810) the input signal to the noise model to obtain a similarity measure; comparing the similarity measure to at least one threshold (832, 834) to detect the at least one inhalation noise burst; and characterizing (1354, 1356) the at least one detected inhalation noise burst.
L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet de caractériser un bruit d'inhalation à l'intérieur d'un système de distribution d'air pressurisé, lequel procédé consiste à: produire un modèle de bruit d'inhalation (912, 1012) sur la base du bruit d'inhalation; recevoir un signal d'entrée (802) comprenant un bruit d'inhalation comprenant au moins une salve de bruit d'inhalation; comparer (810) le signal d'entrée au modèle de bruit afin d'obtenir une mesure de similarité; comparer la mesure de similarité à au moins un seuil (832, 834) afin de détecter ladite salve de bruit d'inhalation; et caractériser (1354, 1356) ladite salve de bruit d'inhalation détectée.
