ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of charging waterlogged boreholes with particulate explosive material, comprises inserting a pneumatic line with upwardly directed nozzles at the lower end thereof and a material supply line into a borehole, blowing compressed air through the pneumatic line such that at least a portion thereof is directed through the nozzles to form a substantially water-free air pocket around the lower end of the supply line, supplying particulate explosive material through the supply line to a charging zone in the vicinity of the lower end thereof, and gradually withdrawing said line as the borehole fills up with explosive material.
