A method for cleaning golf clubs includes a single step of directing steam at one of a head or a grip of a golf club. The steam has an exit pressure of not less than 20 psi and not more than 90 psi, and an exit temperature of not more than approximately 98 degrees Celsius. The pressure and temperature of the steam must be controlled to avoid damage to the golf club.
