This method and apparatus provide for uniformly coating a hot elongate member with a powder coating. The elongate member and powder carry an electrostatic charge which adds in providing the uniform powder coating. In one development, this method and apparatus uniformly powder coats window lineals directly on a pultrusion line. The on-line coating provides for efficient production of thelineals with the combination of keeping the lineal hot and electrostatically charging it. Tensioning of the hot lineal prevents warpage.
