The invention relates to a method of combining a first partition from a first digital map database and a second partition from a second digital map database, wherein the first and second digital map database being associated with a coordinate reference system, wherein the first and second partition having an interaction with each other in a common region in the first and second digital map database. The method comprising: - identifying a first group of objects in said first partition from said first digital map database, wherein each object comprises a position within said common region; - encoding the objects of the first group with a first group of location references; - decoding the first group of location references on the second partition from the second digital map database; - identifying the location references of the first group that could successfully decode on the second partition to determine topological connections; and, - combining the first partition with the second partition in the second map database in dependence of the location references associated with the topological connections.
L'invention concerne un procédé de combinaison d'une première division d'une première base de données de cartes numériques et d'une seconde division d'une seconde base de données de cartes numériques, les première et seconde bases de données de cartes numériques étant associées à un système de référence de coordonnées, les première et seconde divisions interagissant l'une avec l'autre dans une région commune dans les première et seconde bases de données de cartes numériques. Le procédé comprend : - l'identification d'un premier groupe d'objets dans ladite première division de ladite première base de données de cartes numériques, chaque objet comprenant une position dans ladite région commune ; - le codage des objets du premier groupe avec un premier groupe de références d'emplacement ; - le décodage du premier groupe de références d'emplacement sur la seconde division de la seconde base de données de cartes numériques ; - l'identification des références d'emplacement du premier groupe qui pourraient décoder avec succès sur la seconde division pour déterminer des connexions topologiques ; et - la combinaison de la première division avec la seconde division dans la seconde base de données de cartes en fonction des références d'emplacement associées aux connexions topologiques.
