A method of upstream communication over a linear broadband network includes the steps of generating an upstream baseband signal and modulating it onto an upstream wireless radio frequency carrier to produce a first upstream modulated carrier signal. The modulated carrier signal is transmitted wirelessly, received, and demodulated to reproduce the information integrity of the upstream baseband signal. The signal is then modulated onto an upstream linear broadband radio frequency carrier for transmission on the linear broadband network. Advantageously, noise that accumulates at the subscriber premises is removed from the upstream signal prior to presentation of the signal to the upstream path of the linear broadband network. A system for communicating over a linear broadband network includes network access interface devices coupled to the linear broadband network. A subscriber access interface device accepts upstream communication signals and modulates and transmits the signal to the network access interface device. The network access interface device (6) receives and demodulates the signal and then modulates it for transmission on the linear broadband network.
L'invention concerne un procédé de communication amont pour réseau large bande linéaire, qui consiste à générer un signal amont en bande de base et à le moduler sur une porteuse HF amont, de façon à produire un premier signal de porteuse modulé amont. Le signal de porteuse modulé est émis par radio, reçu et démodulé de façon à reproduire l'intégrité des informations du signal en bande de base amont. Puis le signal est modulé sur une porteuse HF large bande amont en vue de sa transmission sur le réseau large bande linéaire. Avantageusement, le bruit accumulé au niveau de l'immeuble de l'abonné est éliminé du signal amont avant la présentation dudit signal à la voie amont du réseau. L'invention concerne également un système permettant de communiquer par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau large bande linéaire, qui comprend des dispositifs interface d'accès au réseau couplés audit réseau. Un dispositif interface d'accès d'abonné accepte les signaux de communication amont, puis module le signal et le transmet audit dispositif. Le dispositif interface d'accès au réseau (6) reçoit et démodule le signal, puis le module en vue de sa transmission sur le réseau large bande linéaire.
