ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A communication method and apparatus simplifying received data processing and eliminating use of high-speed processing equipment. In the first communication apparatus according to this invention, received data of different types are stored in respective buffers, so that the received data need not be read out immediately but may be read only when required, thereby eliminating use of high-speed processing apparatus. Additionally, received data need not be sorted after being read from the buffers, thereby simplifying the processing of the system. In the first communication method according to this invention, if a command and a request are the same in operand, the operand of the request is not sent, thereby reducing an amount of data to be transmitted. In the second communication method according to this invention, communication is always performed in the unlocked state, so that no unlocking instruction is required to change states from locked to unlocked, thereby further reducing an amount of data to be transmitted.
