METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPARING FUEL CELL VOLTAGE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a method and apparatus for identifying voltage in cells arranged in series. More particu- larly, this invention relates to a method and apparatus for comparing voltages in the cells of an electrical series stack of fuel cells and identifying specific fuel cells or groups which are performing at less than acceptable levels. A method of monitoring the performance of one or more fuel cells in a plurality of electrical series connected fuel cells which comprises dividing the fuel cells into at least two groups, measuring the voltage across each group of fuel cells and comparing the measured voltage with a pre-determined standard voltage for the number of cells in the group.
