A satellite broadcasting system for communication between a satellite hub and a range of ground stations in which a set having a predetermined number of MODCODS is available for data transmission from the satellite hub to the ground stations. Each MODCOD in use in the hub requires additional hub resources, and the system uses a MODCOD limiter for limiting the number of MODCODs in operation at a given time to a subset smaller than said predetermined number of MODCODS, thereby reducing overall resource usage.

L'invention porte sur un système de diffusion par satellite pour communication entre un concentrateur satellite et un ensemble de stations terrestres. Le système comporte un ensemble muni dun nombre prédéterminé de MODCOD destiné à transmettre des données du concentrateur satellite aux stations terrestres. Chaque MODCOD en cours d'utilisation dans le concentrateur nécessite des ressources de concentrateur supplémentaires; le système utilise un limitateur de MODCOD pour que, à tout moment, le nombre de MODCOD en fonctionnement soit limité à un sous-ensemble inférieur au nombre prédéterminé de MODCOD, ce qui réduit lutilisation globale de ressources.
