A method for locating a guide wire axis on a femoral neck comprises the steps of tracking a position and orientation of a femur; registering a frame of reference with respect to the position and orientation of the femur from a first registration probe mounted onto the femur in a predetermined configuration, the frame of reference having preoperative planned data pertaining to the femoral neck; digitizing femoral neck data with respect to the position and orientation of the femur from a second registration probe positioned onto the femoral neck at desired orientations; calculating a position and orientation of the guide wire axis with respect to the position and orientation of the femur as a function of the preoperative planned data and the femoral neck data.
L~invention concerne une méthode pour situer un axe de fil guide sur un col de fémur comprenant les étapes du traçage d~une position et orientation d~un fémur ; du repérage d~un cadre de référence par rapport à la position et l~orientation du fémur à partir d~une première sonde de repérage montée sur le fémur selon une configuration prédéterminée, le cadre de référence ayant des données planifiées préopératoires se rapportant au col de fémur ; de la numérisation de données de col de fémur par rapport à la position et l~orientation du fémur à partir d~une deuxième sonde de repérage positionnée sur le col de fémur selon des orientations désirées ; du calcul d~une position et orientation de l~axe du fil guide par rapport à la position et l~orientation du fémur en tant que fonction des données planifiées préopératoires et des données du col de fémur.
