ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Method and apparatus for the continuous chromium-plating of bars. The bars are moved along a rectilinear path through an anode which is immersed in a chromium-plating bath, the level of the fluid in the latter bath being kept at a constant height by recycling the fluid in the bath. The recycling of the fluid is made directly into the space within the chromium-plating anode and a jet of chromium-plating fluid under pressure is directed toward the surfaces of the bars.
