A control signal based on a focus error signal is masked to avoid the influence of an unnecessary light component during a period based on the moving speed of an objective lens at the time of layer jump. Subsequently, observation of the control signal based on the focus error signal is resumed and a brake signal is delivered to the objective lens thus turning a focus servo on. Accuracy of layer jump is thereby enhanced when an unnecessary light component exists at the interlayer part of the focus error signal.

Selon l'invention, un signal de commande, basé sur un signal d'erreur de focalisation, est masqué afin d'empêcher l'influence d'un composant inutile de rayonnement lumineux pendant une période basée sur la vitesse de déplacement d'une lentille d'objectif, au moment d'un saut de couche. Puis l'observation du signal de commande basé sur le signal d'erreur de focalisation est reprise et un signal de ralentissement est envoyé à la lentille d'objectif mettant en service un servomoteur de focalisation. La précision du saut de couche est ainsi améliorée lorsqu'un composant de rayonnement lumineux inutile existe dans la partie intercouche du signal d'erreur de focalisation.
