A cooling apparatus (10) includes a housing defined by two aluminum parts (12, 13) which are brazed to each other. A plurality of sector-shaped recesses (21- 28) are provided within the housing, and collectively define a chamber having a plurality of ribs (41-48) extending therethrough. Each recess contains a sector-shaped piece of porous material (17, 18), which is brazed to surfaces of the housing parts. The remaining space within the chamber is filled with a phase change material. Each of the ribs has therein a respective radially extending opening (101-108) which contains a heat pipe (141). Expansion accumulators (151) are mounted on the housing, and communicate with the chamber therein, in order to accommodate expansion of the phase change material within the chamber as the phase change material is heated.
L'invention concerne un appareil (10) de refroidissement comprenant une cuve définie par deux pièces (12, 13) d'aluminium assemblées par brasage. La cuve est pourvue de plusieurs embrèvements (21-28) en forme de secteurs, lesquels embrèvements définissent une cuve présentant une multitude de nervures (41-48) traversantes. Chaque embrèvement contient une pièce en forme de secteur fabriquée à partir d'une matière poreuse (17, 18) assemblée par brasage aux surfaces des pièces de la cuve. L'espace restant à l'intérieur de la cuve est rempli à l'aide d'un matériau à changement de phase. Chacun des embrèvements présente une ouverture (101-108) respective qui s'étend de manière radiale et qui contient un caloduc (141). Des accumulateurs (151) d'expansion sont montés sur la cuve et communiquent avec elle de façon à adapter l'expansion du matériau à changement de phase à l'intérieur de la cuve au fur et à mesure que celui-ci est chauffé.
