ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rolling mill in which rolls are displaced in axial direction thereof during operation in dependence on the width, profile and the like factors of a material being rolled. A real rolling load difference is derived by removing a rolling load change components due to a moment produced upon displacement of the rolls from a difference in the rolling load between an operating side and a driving side of the rolling mill, and is utilized for correcting the rolling asymmetry.
