A wireless seismic data acquisition unit with a wireless receiver providing access to a common remote time reference shared by a plurality of wireless seismic data acquisition units in a seismic system. The receiver is capable of replicating local version of remote time epoch to which a seismic sensor analog-to-digital converter is synchronized. The receiver is capable of replicating local version of remote common time reference for the purpose of time stamping local node events. The receiver is capable of being placed in a low power, non- operational state over periods of time during which the seismic data acquisition unit continues to record seismic data, thus conserving unit battery power. The system implements a method to correct the local time clock based on intermittent access to the common remote time reference. The method corrects the local time clock via a voltage controlled oscillator to account for environmentally induced timing errors. The invention further provides for a more stable method of correcting drift in the local time clock.
L'invention concerne une unité d'acquisition de données sismiques sans fil avec un récepteur sans fil qui a accès à une référence temporelle commune à distance partagée par une pluralité d'unités d'acquisition de données sismiques sans fil dans un système sismique. Le récepteur peut recopier une version locale du délai prospectif à distance auquel un convertisseur analogique - numérique de capteur sismique est synchronisé. Le récepteur peut recopier une version locale de la référence temporelle commune à distance dans le but d'un échantillonnage temporel d'événements nodaux locaux. Le récepteur peut être placé dans un état non fonctionnel de faible puissance pendant des périodes de temps pendant lesquelles l'unité d'acquisition de données sismiques continue à enregistrer des données sismiques, conservant ainsi une alimentation par batterie unitaire. Le système met en uvre un procédé permettant de corriger l'horloge temporelle locale basé sur un accès intermittent à la référence temporelle commune à distance. Le procédé corrige l'horloge temporelle locale par l'intermédiaire d'un oscillateur commandé en tension pour comptabiliser des erreurs de synchronisation environnementalement induites. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé plus stable de correction de la dérive de l'horloge de temps locale.
