ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for cutting a continuous web of flexible material into longitudinally extending strips. The method comprises the steps of winding the web of flexible material to build-up a roll and engaging a rotary blade against a peripheral surface of the roll while the roll is being rotated to draw the web of flexible material. The web of flexible material is continuously slitted by the rotary blade and winded on the roll as separate strips.
