ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventional methods of producing circular patterns from generallly flat, irregular shaped solids are often time consuming and the accuracy of the finished product dependant upon the skills of the workman carrying out the method. An alternative and fast and efficient method wherein re- peatability of accuracy is readily achieved, makes use of a jig comprised of an elongate, generally rectangular support frame, which frame is mounted at one end to a work surface and at the other end to a cutting tool table such as is common with shaper or router tools. A flat platform is slidably mounted on the upper side of the support frame with movement of the platform along the length of the support frame controlled by the action of a lead screw threadably inserted into the underside of the platform at one end, supportively mounted through an end of the support frame at the other end and terminated in a hand wheel whereby rotation of the lead screw in the clockwise or counterclockwise direction is achieved. As the screw is rotated a corresponding horizontal move- ment of the platform upon the support frame is obtained. A flat, irregular shaped solid is drilled at the approximate center point of the desired finished circle and placed over a mandrel shaft vertically threaded into the platform. The platform, carrying the solid is advanced toward the cutting tool and the solid horizontally rotated about the platform against the cutting action of the tool. The platform is incrementally advanced toward the cutting tool until the desired diameter of the finished circle is obtained.
