The invention relates to a method for removing hydrogen sulfide compounds from liquid sulfur by treating the liquid sulfur with a gas, wherein the liquid sulfur undergoes at least two separate treatments with a finely divided gas, and in each treatment use is made of a recirculation system with gas lift, while the possibility that a part of the liquid sulfur does not undergo any treatment is prevented practically completely.

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'élimination des composés de sulfure d'hydrogène du soufre liquide par traitement avec un gaz. Le soufre liquide subit au moins deux traitements distincts avec un gaz finement divisé et, dans chaque traitement, on utilise un système de recyclage avec ascension au gaz.
