A method of deriving a calibration filter for electromagnetic data is provided. The method comprises providing a source (21, 22) of electromagnetic radiation and subsequently measuring components of the source electromagnetic field (23, 24, 25) at a receiver when the source is sufficiently close to the receiver that the down-going signal dominates over the up-going signal reflected from features below the receiver. Such a measurement can be used in frequency domain analysis (26, 28, 29) to extract the down-going signal component and derive a calibration filter for the receiver. The method is repeated (27, 30) for each receiver used in an electromagnetic sounding survey.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de calcul d'un filtre d'étalonnage de données électromagnétiques. Ce procédé consiste à fournir une source (21, 22) de rayonnement électromagnétique et à mesurer ensuite des composantes de ce champ électromagnétique de source (23, 24, 25) au niveau d'un récepteur lorsque de source est suffisamment près de ce récepteur pour que le signal descendant prenne le dessus sur le signal montant réfléchi à partir d'éléments situés en dessous du récepteur. Cette mesure peut être utilisée dans une analyse de deux domaines de fréquence (26, 28, 29) de façon à extraire la composante de signal descendant et obtenir un filtre d'étalonnage pour le récepteur. Ce procédé est répété (27,30) pour chaque récepteur utilisé dans une étude de sondage électromagnétique.
