Determining a frequency at which a resonator resonates comprising: driving an acoustic transmitter for applying an acoustic signal to the interior of a resonator by scanning through a first range of frequencies in substantially equidistant steps of a first size; detecting a signal from an acoustic receiver arranged to detect the amplitude of an acoustic signal within the resonator produced by driving the acoustic transmitter over the first range of frequencies; determining a frequency at which a maximum occurs in the detected signal for the first range of frequencies; driving the acoustic transmitter by scanning through a second range of frequencies containing the determined frequency from the first range of frequencies, the second range being smaller than the first range, and scanning through the second range of frequencies in substantially equidistant steps of a second size which is smaller than the steps of the first size; detecting a signal from the acoustic receiver produced by driving the acoustic transmitter over the second range of frequencies and determining a frequency at which a maximum occurs in the detected signal for the second range of frequencies.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de détermination de la fréquence à laquelle un résonateur résonne, consistant à exciter un émetteur acoustique de façon à appliquer un signal acoustique à l'intérieur d'un résonateur en balayant une première gamme de fréquences par pas sensiblement égaux ayant une première longueur; à détecter un signal provenant d'un récepteur optique conçu pour détecter l'amplitude, à l'intérieur du résonateur, d'un signal acoustique produit au moyen de l'excitation de l'émetteur acoustique sur la première gamme de fréquences; à déterminer une fréquence à laquelle se produit un maximum dans le signal détecté pour la première gamme de fréquences; à exciter l'émetteur acoustique en balayant une seconde gamme de fréquences comprenant la fréquence déterminée à partir de la première gamme de fréquences, la seconde gamme de fréquences étant moins étendue que la première gamme, et en balayant la seconde gamme de fréquences par pas sensiblement égaux ayant une seconde longueur qui est inférieure à celle des pas ayant la première longueur; à détecter un signal en provenance du récepteur acoustique produit par excitation de l'émetteur acoustique sur la seconde gamme de fréquences et à déterminer une fréquence à laquelle se produit un maximum dans le signal détecté pour la seconde gamme de fréquences.
