The present invention provides a device (20) for measuring both the magnitude of rotation of a rotating magnetic field (32) as well as the direction of rotation of a rotating magnetic field (32). The present invention may be used to measure the magnitude and direction of fluid flow by converting the kinetic energy of a moving fluid into a rotating magnetic field. At least two stationary sensors (60, 61) are placed in the magnetic field to detect the resulting changes in magnetic flux polarity occurring and provide therefrom a determination of the magnitude and direction of fluid flow.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (20) permettant de mesurer à la fois le degré de rotation d'un champ (32) magnétique rotatif et la direction de rotation d'un champ (32) magnétique rotatif. Cette invention peut être utilisée pour mesurer l'importance et la direction d'un écoulement de fluide par conversion de l'énergie cinétique d'un fluide en mouvement en un champ magnétique rotatif. Au moins deux capteurs (60, 61) fixes sont placés dans le champ magnétique afin de détecter les modifications résultantes de la polarité du flux magnétique, et fournissent à partir de ces données une mesure quantitative et directionnelle de l'écoulement de fluide.
