A method and apparatus for dispersing air freshening, fragrancing and/or deodorising substances into surrounding air includes a hanging container for the substance, a wick (9) to draw the substance and outlet aperture (8) to allow the substance to disperse from the container into surrounding air via the wick (9). Repelling magnetic discs (10, 11) are provided, the (10) disc being a permanent magnet and the three (11) discs being electromagnets, the associated electrical control systems being housed in a base (1) of the apparatus. By arranging for the disc (10) to repel the discs (11), and by pulsing and optionally synchronising the electromagnetic discs (11), the hanging container (4) can be made to swing for a desired length of time in a random or controlled manner, thereby generating a flow of air into and out of the outlet apertures (8) and assisting the dispersal of the substance (5) into the surrounding air.
L'invention concerne un appareil, et un procédé associé, permettant de diffuser des agents assainisseurs, fragrants et/ou désodorisants dans l'air ambiant, comprenant un récipient suspendu renfermant l'agent à diffuser, une mèche (9) pour tirer l'agent et des orifices de sortie (8) pour la diffusion, du conteneur dans l'air ambiant, de l'agent par le biais de la mèche (9). L'invention concerne également des disques magnétiques répulsifs (10, 11). Le disque (10) est un aimant permanent et les trois disques (11) sont des électroaimants. Les systèmes de commande électriques associés sont logés dans une base (1) de l'appareil. Par l'agencement du disque (10) de façon à repousser les disques (11), la pulsion et, éventuellement, la synchronisation des disques électromagnétiques (11), on peut faire osciller le récipient suspendu (4) pendant la durée souhaitée, de manière aléatoire ou contrôlée, ce qui permet de produire un flux d'air à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur des orifices de sortie (8) et de faciliter la diffusion de l'agent (5) dans l'air ambiant.
