A method and apparatus for disposal of anhydrous ammonia. A tank is provided which is adapted to contain water. The tank has a top, a bottom, and a peripheral sidewall. Hose couplings extend through the peripheral sidewall of the tank adjacent to the bottom, whereby anhydrous ammonia supply hoses are connected to feed anhydrous ammonia into the tank adjacent to the bottom. At least one vent is provided in the top of the tank, through which gases produced by the reaction between the anhydrous ammonia and the water are released.

L'invention concerne une méthode et un appareil pour éliminer de l'ammoniac anhydre. Un réservoir est prévu pour recueillir l'eau. Le réservoir comporte un haut, un bas et une paroi périphérique. Des raccords de canalisations s'étendent à travers la paroi périphérique du réservoir adjacent au bas, où des tuyaux d'alimentation d'ammoniac anhydre sont reliés pour alimenter en ammoniac anhydre le réservoir adjacent au bas. Au moins un évent est prévu dans le haut du réservoir, par lequel sont évacués les gaz produits par la réaction entre l'ammoniac anhydre et l'eau.
