ABSTRACT A method for drawing thermoplastic resin tubing to enhance its optical, dimensional and surface properties is disclosed. The method includes the steps of heating the tube within a high temperature liquid bath having a temperature above the transition temperature of the thermoplastic tube. The tubing is drawn through a polished die having a drawing diameter at least 10% smaller than the diameter of the tube to be drawn. Thereafter, the tubing is rapidly cooled.
